CM Ventures wins awards for best packaging

The Composting Association award is the highest profile recognition of excellence in composting in the UK and Ireland. The awards are presented to companies for their outstanding contribution to compost and composting. They are now established in setting the standards for the composting industry.

This award rewards the efforts of organic compost producers to market their products, research and generate new markets and to promote the benefits of composting and using composts.

Vital Earth wins best website beating their biggest competitors Westland and Miracle Gro


Vital Earth's community website thegreenergardener.com has won a national website award from The Garden Industry Manufacturers' Association - GIMA.  

The website is a complete gardening resource including, news blogs, garden calendars, e-newsletter signups and general garden advice, plus a resource for discovering more about Vital Earths', organic recycled composts, plant food, mulches and fertilisers from their waste management depot in Derby.  

Vital Earth, the manufacturer of environmentally-kind, peat free, organic composts, made from garden and food waste which would otherwise go to landfill, has triumphed at the Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) Awards. The company won a GIMA Award for the Best Suppliers Information Website for its site, www.thegreenergardener.com followed by a runner up award in the Best New Product category for its innovative Chicken Poo TM fertiliser.  

The Vital earth website, www.thegreenergardener.com was described by TV gardener, Joe Swift of BBC Gardeners’ World, who presented the Awards as, “in the words of the judges, vibrant, personable and easy to use ….. this totally refreshing approach to consumer education about green issues….” Colourful, engaging and highly interactive, the site targets both established gardeners and younger enthusiasts taking up ‘grow your own’ for the first time and needing friendly advice from a green perspective. Created in house and tested for both content and style in consumer focus groups, the site includes advice, information on going peat-free, product and stockist updates, a gardening calendar, recipes, grow your own advice, a club forum and an ‘ask the experts’ feature.



National Garden Centre Association praises Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre for their Website

STAFF at Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre in Somerset are celebrating this week (Monday, September 15) after recently being praised recently in a 2008 national standards audit of the country’s garden centres.

The family-run business in Taunton has been given an Award of Merit from the Garden Centre Association (GCA) for the calibre of its employees, who the judges rated as having a ‘very positive’ approach when it came to customer care.
Norma Moore, General Manager at the independent, family-run garden centre, explained: “We’re delighted with this award and the positive comments the GCA made about the experience they received when they visited us. The GCA has also given us an Award of Merit for our children’s play area and our website.

“The judges said the safety of the play area was excellent and the cleanliness and hygiene was outstanding. Our customer website received a score of 72 out of a possible 80 points because they said it is easy to use, we offer a speedy response on queries and they felt it presented a good positive image of the garden centre and our knowledgeable team on site.”

The GCA represents more than 200 garden centres in the UK. It believes in sharing information and experiences at all levels, from senior management to the shop floor, and strives to achieve excellence in customer service, plant quality and reliability.

Norma added: “Every garden centre who is a GCA member is subjected to this comprehensive annual inspection by independent consultants to satisfy to the GCA that they are maintaining and improving their customer service standards.”



Website Nominated for Design Award

One of our clients websites has been nominated for a prestigious design award. Acorn Environmental Management Group’s website at www.aemg.co.uk.  
 
The website CSS Awards rarely nominates websites so we were overjoyed to have one of designed websites recognised for this award. The dynamic website was a complete redesign of their existing website and tied in their corporate style, creating a more environmental feel to the look and feel.  
 
We implemented javascript elements to create a main slide effect on the home page and dynamic images on the inner pages.
